Aeronautical Maintenance Assistant
By studying the aeronautical maintenance assistant course, you will be able to perform auxiliary maintenance and service operations on the aircraft in compliance with technical specifications, in safe conditions and under the supervision of a senior technician with certification capacity.
The course consists of 440 hours which are distributed as follows:
- Auxiliary operations in the aircraft (150 hours)
- Auxiliary operations of external aircraft maintenance (40 hours)
- Aircraft auxiliary internal maintenance operations (30hours)
- Auxiliary aircraft service operations (50 hours)
- Aeronautical safety and prevention of occupational and environmental risks (30 hours)
- Auxiliary operations in aircraft workshop (210 hours)
- Auxiliary maintenance of aircraft mechanical systems and fluids (50 hours)
- Auxiliary maintenance of aircraft engines and propellers (40 hours)
- Auxiliary maintenance of aircraft electrical systems (60 hours)
- Auxiliary maintenance of aircraft interiors (30 hours)
- Aeronautical safety and prevention of occupational and environmental risks (30 hours)
- Non-work professional internship module of Aeronautical Maintenance Auxiliary Operations (80 hours)

The Aeronautical Maintenance Assistant course is a level 1 course, which has no training or professional requirements for entry.

Cost of studies
Many of the centers mentioned above are private and cost between 2000€ and 3000€, but if you are registered in the INEM offices, you can access them for free or through a subsidized program. For more information, please contact the study center directly.
Advantages of studying Aeronautical Maintenance Assistant
As you can see the access requirements are minimal but the possibilities of developing a professional career starting from this course are limitless. Once you have finished this training, you will be able to continue with the Aeronautical Maintenance Technician higher degree course. By accessing the advanced course you will have a certain theoretical/practical advantage over your classmates. Depending on your schedule, you will be able to study and work at the same time, thus gaining professional experience and earning an income that will allow you to pay for the EASA Part 66 license exams in aeronautical maintenance.
